Flip flops vs biker boots

This evening, we boated on down to Ducky’s Lagoon for “Bike Nite”. The food was great, the beer was cheap and the scenery was fanfuckingtastic. Hot bikers (and hot bikes) as far as the eye could see.

I did think it funny to see the two crowds of people there (boaters and bikers) mix and mingle. On the one side, you have your boaters; half baked, half naked, fully burned, flip flop wearing scene. On the other side, you got your bikers; rough and tumble (mostly), jeans and t-shirts (with the sleeves cut off), getting baked, biker boot wearing scene.

Everyone seemed to get along swimmingly.

There was also a bunch of hippies in the “lagoon” on different makeshift barges that they were busily painting and decorating(maybe hippy is too harsh; I’ve never seen a hippy do anything “busily”). They stayed pretty much to themselves.  I never did figure out what they were doing.

Any special privs due to the promotion? Did you command any incidents? I’m fascinated by this whole Life-on-the-river homage to Tom Sawyer thing.

I found out it was just a free hat and I was just drunk. I do love free hats.

And it’s no homage. That sounds like a lot of work.

That’s distressing. People, when are we going to learn that giving folks a free hat with some sort of title on it is a commitment. When are we going to start taking responsibility for our free-wheeling hat givering-outery?

You’re right, though. A free hat is a free hat.

And of course its a homage. You’re on a boat on a river. Homage-tastic!

OK, it’s an homage. Whatever floats yer boat…
