“Big” is a relative term (and everyone loves plaids):

Don’t let the current real estate market get you down. It could be worse.

I was kinda disappointed that Big Country never did anything after that first song. Talk, talk? Sigh. Can’t help it…

Shut your mouth, Dave. Big Country did plenty after “Dreams (In a Big Country)”, just not in the states. Plus, the lead singer had an annoying habit of disappearing for years at a time on drunken, drug benders which eventually led to his death and made it hard to capitalize on any success the band ever had.

And for the record, there are any number of unmentionable things I would do to Richard Darbyshire’s box, living in it being the least of them.

    Big Country = Pogues?

that talk talk video … quite a trip down memory lane. the teeth, the chinos, the young james spader look.

No no, although there are similarities. Shane MacGowan of The Pogues has somehow managed to survive his alcoholism and drug issues. Stuart Adamson of Big Country, however, didn’t. Both were great songwriters, though, although MacGowan is arguably the better of the two.

    Also, Pogues = Englishy-Irish. Big Country = Englishy-Scottish.

These are important facts, so please do try and remember them.
