Grandma always told me not to discuss sex, politics and religion in polite company. Of course, we talk about them all the time, and I enjoy it. Thing is, most people have strong opinions that they won’t change and don’t really understand (at least about religion and politics). They don’t want to admit they don’t really understand what they believe (or they don’t know that they don’t know), or that they would vote for someone because of factors that they’ve been taught shouldn’t matter- like race (although there are plenty of people in SC- both black and white- who would never vote for someone of the “other” race)-, so they give stupid or dishonest answers to try to fool others or themselves that it’s about issues.
